Before picture day arrives, we know parents and childcare centers may have questions. We've gathered answers to the most common questions about registration, picture day, ordering, and photo delivery to help make the School Day Smiles experience simple, enjoyable, and stress-free for everyone. School Day Smiles General Questions
We're excited to photograph your child! Below are answers to some of the most common questions parents have before Picture Day.
How do I register my child?
Parents must complete the online registration before Picture Day. Registration includes your child's information, photo permission, and payment of the registration fee.
Is registration required?
Yes. Registration is required for every child who will be photographed.
What is the registration fee?
A $30 registration fee is required for each child and serves as a credit toward your photo purchase.
What if I have more than one child attending?
Each child must be registered separately. If your children attend the same center, you'll be able to complete multiple registrations during the process.
What happens on Picture Day?
Sue, the lead photographer will work with each child individually to create a relaxed and enjoyable experience.
She will capture several different expressions and poses to provide you with a variety of images to choose from.
How many photos will be taken?
We typically photograph each child in at least five different poses or expressions, allowing you to select your favorites when your gallery is ready.
What should my child wear?
Choose clothing that is comfortable and reflects your child's personality.
We recommend:
Solid colors
Minimal logos
Avoid busy patterns when possible
Clothing that fits well
Brush hair before arriving
If your center has a dress code, please follow those guidelines.
Can my child bring a favorite toy?
Small comfort items are welcome if they help your child feel comfortable before their photos.
The comfort item may or may not be in the photograph with the child.
My child is shy. What if they won't smile?
No worries!
We work with children every day and understand that every child has their own personality.
We'll never force a smile and will take the time to make your child feel comfortable. Some of the sweetest portraits come from genuine expressions.
What if my child cries?
It happens!
We'll be patient and do our best to help your child feel safe and comfortable. If needed, we'll try again later in the day if the center's schedule allows.
What if my child is absent?
If your child is absent on Picture Day, please contact us.
If a make-up day is scheduled by the center, we'll be happy to photograph your child then. If no make-up day is available, the registration fee will be refunded.
When will I receive my photos?
Families will receive an email when their online gallery is ready.
Most galleries are delivered within 2–3 weeks after Picture Day.
How will I view my photos?
Your child will receive a private online gallery through Pixieset where you can:
View your images
Choose your favorites
Purchase prints
Order digital images
Order gifts and keepsakes
Can grandparents order photos?
Absolutely!
You may share your gallery link with family members so they can place their own orders if you'd like.
Can I purchase additional prints later?
Yes!
Your gallery will remain open for a period of time, allowing you to order additional prints, wall art, keepsakes, and digital images.
Do I have to purchase a package?
Your registration fee reserves your child's Picture Day and is applied as a credit toward your purchase.
You'll be able to choose the products and collections that best fit your family.
Will my child's images be shared publicly?
Your child's privacy is important to us. There will is a space on the registration form to give your permission for PS Photography
to use your child’s photos for marketing purposes. We will never use your child's images for marketing without your permission.
Can siblings be photographed together?
Sibling photos may be available if offered by your childcare center. If sibling portraits are available, details will be provided before Picture Day.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept major credit cards and other secure online payment methods through our online ordering system.
